Memecoins are assets whose price is set by attention rather than cash flow. There is no revenue to discount and no product roadmap to underwrite; the entire valuation rests on how many people are looking, how fast that number is changing, and how liquid the exit is when it stops.

Treating them as irrational misses what they are. They are the cleanest available expression of speculative appetite, which makes the category genuinely informative — memecoin volume and breadth are among the better real-time reads on risk tolerance across the whole market, and they tend to peak before broader tops.

Analysis here is market-structure analysis, not fundamentals: holder concentration, how much of the supply insiders control, whether liquidity is locked, honest volume versus wash trading, and social velocity rather than social volume. The asymmetry is brutal in both directions, and most of these assets go to zero, which is why position sizing does more work than selection.
